Commercial airtime should not contain material or wording that is likely to cause serious or widespread offence. Compliance will be judged on context, medium, the product and overall standards of decency.
Particular care and sensitivity should be taken with regards race, religion, disability and culture.
Content related to alcohol, tobacco and any other substance that is detrimental to health is not accepted and will be rejected.
Gambling and any scenes of nudity or indecency is not accepted and will be rejected.
Themes that are politically provocative will not be accepted and will be rejected.
Party political broadcasts during election time or other will not be accepted and will be rejected.
Public announcements and neutral political messages must carry the line “Paid for commercial” throughout.
The company or owner wanting to advertise must be transparent. Anonymous sources will not be accepted and will be rejected.
Themes concerning Legal disputes are not accepted.
Any competitor to a product or company that is being advertised must not be mentioned, insinuated or hinted at.
Any claim of a product offering a "miracle" or a method of treatment is not accepted and will be rejected.
Announcements which aim to gather personal information (questionnaires, voting, elections) are not accepted and will be rejected.
Al Jazeera Media Network at its discretion has the right to refuse content that will affect, diminish and reduce our audio and visual output ( e.g. poor production quality, visual defect, incorrect language, poor voiceover, etc.).
Local Ads are not preferrable on AJE.
Commercial airtime must adhere to the Al Jazeera Media Network technical standards procedure.
The language used should be in its entirety as per the language of Channel on which the commercial will be aired on (i.e. Arabic for AJA and English for AJE).
Al Jazeera Media Network has the right to modify or change its current conditions or come up with new conditions which accommodate and improve with AlJazeera Media Network policy.
